teaching (procedural) programming concepts.
I'm sure you could have learned the same stuff on your own. However,
would you have learned it quicker if you weren't taking a class? I would
guess it depends on the person and how they learn. But, having courses
under your belt will make it easier for someone else to believe you know
what you are talking about.
