father. I'm Jewish because my mother is Jewish (and my own choice). I'm a
Yisroel (the 3 'types' of Jew are Cohen, Levi and Yisroel) because my father
was one. My mother is actually the daughter of a Cohen, but the status does
not transfer to me. If you remember the discussion on the priestly gene we
had a while back, it's a male tracked gene.
