actually he also channelled the first PM of Canada through his dog)

You're probably thinking of William Lyon MacKenzie - the leader of
the 1837 rebellion. He was the great grandfather of WLM King.
Hey if the Americans won the War of 1812 then how come Canada is
still around. And not under direct US control. Remember at the end of
that conflict Canada controlled more US territory than Americans
controlled Canadian territories. What was gained on the battlefield
was lost at the negotiating table.
