I can't believe I'm the only one that picked up on that.  "Tripping the
Rift" was a HILARIOUS spoof of sci-fi (Star Wars in particular) - it stars
Stephen Root (who's never been involved with a bad project. well - maybe
Crocodile Dundee 2).  It came out about three or four years ago.

Not at all for kids. but fan-freakin'-tastic.  Here's a link to the original
short:

Nudity, homo-, hetero, and robo- sexual-innuendo and a homicidal clown.
It's a classic - right up there with "Hardware Wars" and "Troops".

Just watching it now - but did anybody else just giggle like a little girl
at seeing a "Tripping the Rift" series?  ;^)

I can't wait - I hope they don't tone it down too much.

I liked it.  Good twist at the end.

Damn I hope they bring it back as a series.

Dammit. I give them the benefit of the doubt and then they give me that?!?

Can you say "vehicle for AOL vs. MSN ads?" I wanted to punch that damn
  butterfly.

Okay. Really. I still stand by what I said before about what I liked. But
the whole damn thing could have been an hour long, 1:30 at most, and it
still would have had all the good stuff.

  I hate miniseries writers.
