I guess I'll have to do some investigating.
I'm pretty sure everything in there is stock, so can I just look up the model number on the Compaq site and see if drivers are available.

before you do anything, make sure that the device drivers for the existing
machine are available for XP.
There are a lot of legacy computers that cannot be upgraded due to the lack of
drivers. Compaq for instance.
