that's what you're thinking (which I only guess since you were living in the
UK) - that's actually a British dish - it doesn't exist in India. That
said, we do eat Chicken Tika and we do eat Chicken Masala ;) There are so
many styles of Indian cuisine - it's so easy to get cnfused by all the
terminology. The only things she doesn't make are two of my favorites -
Murgh Makhani (better known as butter chicken) and dosas. She also doesn't
know any South Indian food, which is generally milder, creamier, and sweeter
(think coconut, pineapple, etc.).

food, but yes I love chana masala. I also love dal, which is another
pressure cooker food. It is startling that something that takes 45
minutes
to make in a pot of boiling water (like dal) takes no more than 10
minutes
with a pressure cooker. If I can get her to part with and write down
her
recipe, I'll send it to you ;)
