The roman Bacchus.   A lot more than just wine my friend.  His celebrations
were orgies that the Romans eventually outlawed for the damage they caused.

Very true.

They called it Dionysus.

The greek god of wine.

But honestly, thats a really poor example considering the _majority_ of the
population was controlled with fear of vengeful gods.
