I've done some research and decided on Cingular because of the rollover
minutes. Plugged my phone number in and it said I couldn't transfer it.
WTF?
Called them and they told me that since I live in Montgomery County in
Maryland, that that is not one of the 100 largest cities (I am in the DC
Metro area, that isn't large enough for them?)
The explanation was that Cingular doesn't ACTUALLY have service in this
county so they won't switch the number. However Verizon is willing to
switch my number no problem (but I really want the roll-over minutes)
Soo,
I can either, switch to Verizon, live with my service until May 24th, or I
can get a new phone number. I'm torn.
_____
I've been with Sprint for the past 4 years, but I'm tired of them and now
with the ability of being able to take my number with me, I'm looking to
switch.
I still have a Samsung SCH-8500, which is way old technology. I'm not even
sure of what I am looking for to be honest. So advice of which plans,
phones, nice to have's, not necessary are requested.
I'm considering Cingular simply because of their offer to roll-over minutes.
I usually use between 200-400 minutes a month, but whenever there is a
family emergency, my calls go way up and that would be a way of dealing with
them (I got a 1000 minute anytime plan just to deal with this situation,
except the few times I've had to use it, I commonly go up even above that).
This last time the emergency struck the last week of my plan month and I got
socked with a $300 bill.
I'm in the DC Metro area, but do some traveling when on vacation and also
doing conferences.
