Kick the Habit of GUI, as soon as you can.
The only thing worse than X-windows, is Windows X!!!
The command shell, or bash may look like a nightmare at first,
but the more u use it, the more you'll see that it is much more powerfull,
and a lot less troublesome.
For Remote Controll, have a look for the rpm package called VNC.
Do a search for vnc, at www.rpmfind.net
Download, the vnc, vncserver, and vnc client.
To install on linux.
Open a shell
bash# rpm -ivh <packagename.rpm>
Other Linux resources.
Try: a google search.....http://www.google.com
If you want info on a file or a command.... bash# man <filename>
Also the HowTOs....helps a lot.
As I said, try and get used to NON GUI, its hard at first,
but you'll pick the fruit.
G'd Luck.
