The symptoms are exactly like the one described by Dane in the thread 
below with the exception that my setup was with mysql and also with sql 
server (tried both setup and the error persisted).

The other thing I want to add to Dane's description is that the problems 
I have experienced will only expose itself when the traffic load exceed 
beyond some point. So in intranet situations or small websites where you 
do not have any real traffic to speak of I do not think this problem 
will show its ugly head which explain why a lot of the companies that 
use CF doesn't know about it since they will never experience it.  The 
CF was setup for a webserver with CF code all custom designed to server 
over well over 1 million dynamic CF pages per day. Windows version of CF 
5 was able to handle it, barely, but Linux version doesn't even seem to 
be in the same league.

Every possible configuration with the CF settings have been tried with 
no result to show for.
