I don't think I was too clear on that point. The code, which is only a dozen or so, has been optimized and reoptimized to handle more 1 million page views from a single CF 5 webserver on windows machine running on sql server. Switched to linux in hopes of even better performance but the linux version of CF is not even stable enough to survive hours of operations let alone a single day to see what it can handle.
First tried CF linux with sql server and that didn't work. Thought maybe the sql odbc driver is not up to par so with went with mysql which is as native to linux as it can get so I figured the driver for it should be top notch. Turned out it didn't help since CF 5 was still core dumping. DB server was separate from the web server. Then went through the motion of reinstallation CF linux, making sure every single shared variable is locked, tested CF admin configuration to see if that helped, and basically anything I can think off. This continuing process went on for a month before I totally give up and have ported the app to php instead.
