I've have linux coldfusion site on a shared server at Flare Networks. It is a low volume site, and most of the time is fine. But it bugs me that when is goes away, (which happens every now and then) I can never get a response out of them. I do not have a lot of experience with 3rd party hosting, but I suspect that my experience is fairly typical.
