Sounds like (CF5 on RedHat goes away for 15 minutes but doesn't crash) a problem we had recently. It is caused by registry bloat. (Check the size of the files in the registry diretory of your CF installation, usually /opt/coldfusion.) The fix is described in Tech Note 22730 <http://www.macromedia.com/v1/Handlers/index.cfm?ID=22730&Method=Full>.
