Hi. I used this link and it was a big help:
http://www.cfdev.com/mx/cfmx-redhat-8-howto.cfm

It mentions that you need to start ColdFusion before installing Updater
2 otherwise you'll get 404s. Perhaps that's what you've run into.

Subject: Problem with Linux installs

I've been attmepting to reinstall cfmx with updater2 on a linux server
with the latest kernel packages and apache 2.0.44.

It was pointed out to me that it proved an easier install to install
cfmx as the default Internal webserver on port 8500 rather than to
incorporate it into Apache initially. After cfmx is verified, run the
connector command line to apache. This worked excellently on one of my
servers. However when I'm attempting to duplicate the process on
another server, I run into an odd problem.

I can access the internal web server with no problems, and browse the
directories to find the /CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm file but when I
attempt to display the administrator index.cfm the server returns a 404
File not Found error. This is reported in the cfserver.log as well.

I can't think of a step that I've ommitted or done differently. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike
