Progress database?  Do you mean Postgres?

At any rate, you must separately download drivers and install them on your CF
box.
Then set up a DSN on the CF box to connect to the remote server.

There must be a login and permissions set on the box carrying the database.

For instance we have CF web sites hosted on a Win2003 server, and the ones that
use MySQL do so via DSN connecting to the Linux Server.

Yeah, I know there is a version of MySQL for Windows, but it seems to work
faster and better being on the Linux box.

Conversely, you can make your Linux CF box communicate with an Access, or SQL2k
database hosted on a remote Windows box.

Sometimes the correct drivers are a little hard to find, but they are usually
found on sourceforge or the like.

Any idea how I would connect to a Progress database running on SCO with
ColdFusionMX running on a separate Linux box?

The Progress specific database aside, how does one configure CFMX to talk to
*any* database other than the ones it ships with drivers for?

  Thanks,
