And I've seen a few places mention using the "Other" database type. This page (http://cfguru.daemon.com.au/archives/000082.html) mentions it:

I don't even have an "Other" entry. Just MERANT dBase/FoxPro Driver, MERANT SQL Server Driver, MERANT mySQL Driver, unixODBC PostgreSQL Driver, and the MERANT Text Driver.
