Make sure to check Macromedia's LiveDocs for the version of CF that you are planning on installing to see what distro is officially supported. http://livedocs.macromedia.com/ I konw that CF MX 7 is only supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS & ES 2.1 or 3.0, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8.x, TurboLinux 8 Server (Japanese only). I have heard from postings online where people have gotten CF to work on Gentoo and other distros, but your safest bet may be on of the RedHat Enterprise based distros like CentOS or Whitebox, but I have no experience with those distros so I can't directly say that they will work. I have gotten CFMX 7 installed on both RedHat Enterise Linux 3 & 4, with some minor bugs. Good luck.
