My underlying question is why exclude `string x(x)` and `char x(x,l)` from being coordinate variables. Aren't coordinate variables just a convenient shorthand for associating data variables with variables that contain coordinate information? Auxiliary coordinate variables are a slightly more wordy way of associating them only because they can't be coordinate variables.
Or is there more to a coordinate variable in CF? -- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
