Regarding the form 'x(x)': I stand by my assertion that neither NUG nor CF prohibit such a construction for a variable that is not intended to be a coordinate variable. Such a form is not recommended, but it is not prohibited. I fully believe and agree that this was the intention in CF (I don't know about NUG), but the language does not implement the intention. While not recommended, CF also allows auxiliary coordinate forms such as 'x(x,l)'.
If the majority agree that we should prohibit such forms, it requires a change to the conventions. We can call that correcting a defect or making an enhancement. I am good either way. -- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
