Mine is a very small NGO not a lot of people here
I dont have SQL 2000 is Office 2k alright?
How about security?
Is NT very secure?
When I register people to access the intranet can I use their NT accounts
for this?
All this authentication stuff and all at times I get lost....
Say when a client logins in how do I keep track of him and what he is
doing?

***Apache for NT is not too good yet. They have some multitasking
***problems.
***Recognized by them. On the other hand I would ask first about your DB,
***budget and transaction load.
***
***If you have Oracle the answer is Unix, SQL server of course is
***NT. In Unix
***you are going to spend initially more. For instance, you need
***CF, ODBC from
***merant, the OS, Oracle, etc. $$$$ Everything has Unix type prices,
***thousands per piece. ODBC is around $4000 per processor plus $4000 per
***driver/processor.
***
***Win2K is just install the OS, CF, SQL 2000 and all is well
***integrated, and
***bang! you are there. You can probably setup legally all your
***stuff in low
***budget for less than $5000.00
***
***The problem is, Win2K does not cluster and grow like a Unix.
***at the end it
***will come to that... You have thousands of users? how many
***transactions
***per minute you are hoping for?
