OK, still think it's a terrible idea but you must have a need, though what
are you bloody transferring at that size?!

I would go .NET or stick with ColdFusion with Event Gateway myself but then
again, I would never transfer a file of that size over the web...

You're catching on. That's why we need to use FTP.  And it has to be 
embedded in the application, on the web page, or at least loadable 
off the page (ie; not a stand-alone FTP program like CuteFTP).
