I need to do something like this as well, but with a Network Attached Storage
(NAS) machine. Windows NT/2000 sees the NAS filer as a logical mapped drive,
e.g. D:. With these systems the main apps, e.g. SQL Server, Cold Fusion, IIS
etc. would run locally on the Windows 2000 server, but with the SQL data, CF
templates etc. located on the NAS.

Question: If I specified the IIS root directory as the directory on the NAS,
i.e. a mapped network drive, and which was also the root of the CF application,
would that work OK?

I don't see why it shouldn't work, as it would essentially be no different as
far as IIS and presumably CF is concerned, to having different drive volumes,
e.g. C: and D: on the same physical har disk - unless of course CF requires
everything to be on the same volume?

Adrian Cooper.
