Because the museum is in beta now, we have not actually imported more than 4
or 5 thousand exhibits as a test of the file system. I have loaded test data
up to 300,000 imaginary exhibits into the database, to test search
performance. But because the system is designed to allow the exhibits to be
stored in multiple directories or disks (for ease of backup among other
reasons), if performance of the filesystem becomes an issue, we will simply
move some to another location.
