It was done back and forth mostly to resolve this issue. Someone thinks that
just because it's a horrible situation to have a child kidnapped then it
will be ok to post on here. Well what if then someone feels that a murder
suspect they are looking for is a good post, so on and so forth, I never
said I didn't feel for the victims, just that this isn't the place for it,
which Mike D has agreed on. Sure there probably would have not been as many
posts for the Amber alert, but now we have this cleared up for other
situations and all someone will need to do is look in the archive to find
out the best practices for this list.

Subject: Re: OT but Important Amber alert missing child should I post here ?

I really am not trying to offend anyone - but it is ironic that (and I am
sure that I am not alone in saying it) that the back and forth bickering
about whether or not a post is valid is more times much more annoying then a
single OT post.

(of course by myself responding - yes it is contradictory to what I am
saying - so don't bother including me in - just wanted to share a view)

How is it going to 'help' by posting on 'this' list? Seriously??

It makes me sick to think there are such callous people that don't care

about a missing child.
Who said we do not 'care'?

Isn't television, radio and newspapers more efficient and effective to
communicate with the population?
