Could you give an example of how I would grab ahold of the WinNT provider with cfldap? I suspected it may be able to be done, and asked that exact question on this list many ages ago with no response.
A cfx tag by itself does not instantiate a connection to ADSI, someone has to write the code in a language other than CF. I assumed since the question was what "one could do that another couldn't" that we were talking about CF and ASP, not their respective extensibility technologies. Seeing as how the question was vague, and could encompass cfx, com, corba, etc, etc. There is really nothing either can do that the other can't, as long as you are not restricted to actually using the languages.
