Problem is pulling in either word or other text documents or older html documents from the database. There's no way a text-editor would know how to properly transform that format into our own custom XML. I'm afraid that will still have to be a manual process.
XHTML seems like a better step, as from what I believe it's just an 'XML standard that happens to have the syntax of html'.
