Is your motherboard relatively new?  Many new motherboards use "real"
sounds for system conditions.  My Asus uses a U.K.-style police siren
(beebaw, beebaw) to indicate an overheat or stopped fan condition.

Check your bios for system health monitoring - heat and fan RPM and see
if they're all happy.
