Okay, so at work, we have SQL server running on a Development Server. I have
a username for it, but at work, I access it as a datasource by using
\\SERVER\SHARE\. But it does have an Domain Name
(development.foobar.net)...can I just use that path and all my login info to
create a datasource on my mac to access my SQL server databases?

I have a PC here at home, and I just tried to add a Datasource to point to a
database that I know is all setup at work and working. I even logged into
the development server at work and entered all the exact information
*except* the server address. At work, the "Server" is "SERVER-NAME\SHARE"
(changed of course) and at home, I tried "mydevservername.domain.com"
(changed of course) with a username and password that I KNOW already
works...I got the following error...

Connection verification failed for data source: DataSourceSample
[]java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error
establishing socket. Connection refused: connect
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC
Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect

I admit, I'm not much of an admin guy...so it could be a setting in SQL
Server that I can't setup...but I do recall that on several occasions I
haven't been able to "see" the SQL server at work, even though Enterprise
Manager.
