The reason I don't move to MX is because CFHTTP is broken in everything
since CF 4.5.  I would have to create custom java classes just to do CFHTTP.
It's a lot easier to use 4.5 and figure out how to fix the Unicode problem,
then to create a java class every time I need to CFHTTP.

As far as why I'm using the Unicode text files. I'm getting them off a site
that I have no control over, so I don't think I can get non Unicode.

no there isn't & if there were from what i recall of cf4.5 it would trash
any wide chars anyway.

well first off, why are you getting unicode files for use w/cf4.5? can't you
get whoever to supply something that cf4.5 can swallow? or better yet move
to mx? also you haven't said what languages you're dealing with.

google for rosette (i think its on basistech.com but been a while). probably
others you can find w/google.
