IIRC it is not a leak, it is a design decision. Whilst the CF 
Server does not release memory to the OS, it does get reused 
internally.

CF 4.5 is not a free upgrade from CF 4.

Is restarting CF every night an option? Unchecking the already 
mentioned "Maintain database connections" helps too.
