Well, I promised to return back on this after the meeting. In short, ColdFusion will be history in this company, and it will be replaced by tadadadaaaa ASP.NET. Reasons in short:
- Market demands Microsoft solutions - Company lost their trust in Macromedia, we used to do a lot of Spectra and invested a lot in it (for ex: with partnerships) and during the Allaire time they were very satisfied but then just out of the blue Spectra was dropped (bye investments), and the acquisition by Macromedia made it worse. They invested a lot into partnerships but never received anything out of it. I suggested the project I was working on to be released to the open source community, and they will think about it because it involves more than just releasing it. Arguments about shorter product development times, Blackstone etc. were reacted on with ".. ASP.NET is our future, we are done with Macromedia".
