This list has many readers.  I actually think of it as a marketing tool.

Dunno if you're referring to me personally or in general - some folks
have left me unkind notes about featuring .NET on my mainly CF blog.

I don't jump ship.  I learn how to drive a ship instead of ride on
one, and it lets me drive many types of different ships.  If you
really know MX, and have learned to take advantage of CFCs and their
OO capacity, you've opened your mind to architectural thought instead
of simple code thought.  Once you've learned architecture, code is,
well, an afterthought.  It's semantical.  My current personal project
is written in CFMX, but I was thinking last night about how easy it'd
be to port the backend, frontend, or whole thing over to .NET.  The
architecture is there and defined - it's just a matter of changing the
words.
