I'm sure being "in print" is wonderful for the reputation. However, if Ben makes little to no money on the finished product and it takes months and months to bring it to consumers, I wouldn't think it's worth it.
I like having books in print also, but I more highly value timely information. If I were to update to the latest CF offering, I would want Ben's material hot on the heels of its release, not shortly before another release of CF (if the time-lag is truly that great)... Of course, as some suggested earlier, having books in print may just be the best way to end up on the training circuit, which offers much more lucrative pay-back, I'm sure. However, it doesn't serve the community looking for expert insight and application, I'm afraid. Moving from one model of doing anything takes time, especially a model for delivering information that's been around as long as printing on paper has, but I'm afraid it's a dying effort which will eventually give way to cheaper, efficient, *and* profitable ways of doing business... Personally, I like having Ben's lineup of books all bound up nicely sitting right here on my shelf. The convenience is worth it, IMO. I would think that print would make Ben's exposure much more worth the effort in the CF community.
