I'm not really sure what your trying to say. Are you referring to physical server, or instances of SQL server. Neither of these can be created via enterprise manager. A new server requires hardware and an actual machine. A new instance requires you install sql server again and choose to deploy a new instance.

Currently I have one database per server. I now need to add a new database to an existing server, but get the error message that the server name already exists. I am not sure how I can get round this as I need the server name to stay consistent for both databases? Any help would be appreciated. mike ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application.
