Its the live site but I just revisited it and it seems much faster now(of course).

I'd say probably not. But, small performance gains like this can make a difference. For example, I read a recent article that talked about a huge system, on the scale of eBay or Amazon. I can't remember what it was, but that's not important. Anyway, these guys /were/ fine tuning down to the millisecond and kilobyte. He talked about trimming a few KB from some JS files, and no joke, they were saving terabytes of throughput per month.
