I think what I'm planning to do is continue to design and develop with
my current IDE and 4.5, so I can get the projects I'm working on out the
door,
which I've already begun. I'll use my current IDE with CF7 also, but I
would
like to learn both CF7 and DW together, if possible.

On my laptop, I think I'll install CF7 and DW8 and see what happens. I do
my
main development on a workstation with WYSIWYG IDE and HomeSite 5.5. I have
a
dual screen setup that I just can't tolerate being without! I've been
spoiled!
Once I got used to two monitors, there's no going back. I would like to add
a third! (Then I can say I have as many monitors on my system as Bill Gates
does on his! :o)

It doesn't matter how long the learning takes, except for the 30-day trial
of DW8. Hopefully I can
get an extension on that, because it takes longer to continue to work on
current
projects, plus put in sufficient time in 30 days for evaluation. These are
busy days,
even for a WYSIWYG, CF 4.5 developer!

Even if your code editor is Notepad, stick with what you know now and focus
on learning new CF tags and methods. When you are comfortable with the new
things that you will be faced with then go ahead and turn your development
world -- and your ability to bill productive hours -- upside down with a new
IDE. Don't distract yourself.
