Now video encoding I know something about...yes! I do know something! :o)
The standalone route seems to be a good one for now. -----Original Message----- From: Bryan Stevenson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, June 16, 2006 3:12 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: Which version of CF should I download? > Yeah...new ground is always complicated until you understand it... > > And every time I get an answer to a question, new information causes 3 > more questions! :oP I know the feeling...happens most times I ask a video encoding question or a jetski related mechanical question online ;-) > > You mentioned you installed IIS to have the "full blown" approach. > That's what I'd like, because that's what the production environment > will be like. As Dave W mentioned...it's not the same version you'll find on a server OS (5.1 instead of 6), but you can still do some of the things Dave mentioned on 5.1 (not that I actually do any of them). So what I installed was 5.1 that comes with XP Pro. Perhaps this bit of advice will help.... You can change your mind later using something called the web connector, so perhaps for now...go simple and use the standalone option...if you want to try something else later you can switch to IIS or Apache. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:243810 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
