Oh, man...the quicksand is sucking me in more and more every posting...

Not it's, "JRun", "compiled Java byte code", "Java runtime", "websphere", 
"tomcat", "sun"


The nice thing about CF is that it hides most of this complexity.  You should 
just be able to run the installer and be creating applications with out knowing 
how CF is compiling the code and getting it to java.  I've been using the MX 
versions for nearly three years now, and I have yet to need to look at any part 
of the Java underpinnings of ColdFusion.

I just use the standard Jrun that comes with ColdFusion and run the installer.  
I have started to use multi-home which has been fun, and required me to know a 
little more about the Java world.  I'm also diving into flex, which brings more 
Java pains.  But nothing too head exploding yet.
