IIS is essentially a component of the operating system. You can only install the version of IIS that comes with the operating system. So, if you install IIS on Windows XP, you get IIS 5.1, which doesn't support multiple virtual servers. There's a tool available for quickly switching IIS 5.1 configuration info so you can develop multiple projects, but you can't run multiple virtual servers, period.
