This is a case for marketing and advertising really. I am willing to be
that most people who are considering going to CFUnited 2007 probably did not
know of this information. My honest feeling is that all of improvements
from 2006 to 2007 should be made more available. I may be missing where
this information is posted, but if it posted someplace then please send it
to me, so that I can pass it on to my CFUG colleagues for review.

Justification of cost is understanding the value of any service. I do not
believe that Adobe MAX is a competitor for CFUnited. I attended both
CFUnted and Adobe MAX 2006 and you meet two different sets of people at each
event.

If you meet one professional contact or any quality personal contacts from
the event, $700 quickly pays itself off just in either side work or the
quality of life of having good friends.

Can you put a price on a good friend? I know that I cannot. I would not
sell my friends down the river for $700.

I personally pay for all of my conferences as I am a consultant. I regret
that I can only budget 2 conferences a year, otherwise I would budget for
cf.objective() and at least one Europe conference. I have friends across
the pond that I owe some drinks to.

Come for knowledge, come for friends, come for networking or just come to
tell me in person and convince me that there is no value meeting the
majority of the CF notables.

I am not on any advisory board. I do not work for TeraTech. I am just a
long time CF developer that enjoys meeting other CF geeks. Find me there
and lets talk shop over your beverage of choice.

Cheers,
Teddy
