This is a false sense of security....
While it may "hide" the code that is definately a bad approach
to "obscure" code from someone.
As anyone knows a DLL can be decompiled into assembler
and from there you can learn anything you want. On top of
that certain things about DLL's are exposed and such.
I would kind of rank that method as a bad idea for obscurity...
Sounds like a case of everything being the nail and CFX
being the hammer.
VB CFX's? Why? That is what COM is for.
There are already Java and C++ CFX's heck you can
pretty much make direct calls to Java methods as it
is. I would say they have the extensibility language choices
well made.
Why they DO need to do is extend the current funcionality
a good bit with Java and C++ CFX's so that C++ tags
can be passed more than basic strings numbers and queries
(Structs, CF arrays anyone???) I would absolutely die to have
that ability.
Where as if I want to do something in VB i can just write a quick
COM Object and plug it in with CF... :)
VB is already an easy way to extend CF I would even venture to
say its a better idea to have COM's because then they are
available as reusable components in other places... :)
