Well, that's if you look at the Enterprise version...but is that what most 
people would need? I think they are really aiming at a different market here. 
I'm very tempted to try it for my VPS for instance, which would only cost $300 
for a license (or $15/month under their rental program). Their free community 
version actually is less restrictive than BlueDragon and can be used for small 
business site...perfect for running my software on if you use something like 
AuthNet that doesn't use a CFX tag. Their Enterprise version looks to really 
make a nice hosting platform as it allows for a lot more things to be 
controlled per-site than with ColdFusion...you can set things like debugging 
and trusted cache on a per-site basis, versus server-wide. Will it become 
popular enough for hosts to want to offer it? That's certainly debatable...but 
I think definitely the pricing for the Pro version will make it very attractive 
to people running VPS or dedicated boxes. On the flip side, the change in 
licensing ColdFusion for VPS use which makes CF8 much more expensive will 
likely make even more people look for other options.
