I love that pricing. Thinking outside the box, what would be better is free for a single website, then $ per additional site, I think they could get a lot of market share this way. Everyone with a little pet project they want to put on a server somewhere would use it.
At $300 I wouldn't be interested, I think my CF8 upgrade was only $650. And I get all the features. But still I do like that concept. It's much easier to sell them on $300 than $1300... -----Original Message----- From: Mary Jo Sminkey [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2007 12:07 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: Railo 2 Released >As Mary Jo pointed out, I may not be their target customer, but they've >tried >to sell me on their product directly before and I just can't see paying >more for less... paying less for less, we'll that's a different story and >the >way it should be to me. It seems more in line with the capabilities of BlueDragon JX server which is $1250 and probably should be at least closer to that in price. But I do love the low-price options they are giving with Railo, that let you buy sites on a as-need basis. -- Mary Jo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Enterprise web applications, build robust, secure scalable apps today - Try it now ColdFusion Today ColdFusion 8 beta - Build next generation apps Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:287148 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4
