Thanks for the feedback and info on the datasource, Mary Jo...CrystalTech is shooting themselves in the foot concerning their shared hosting by limiting the number of databases in MySQL.
I don't see what difference it would make to them. More of a drain on the system to run 20 databases with 10 tables each than one database with 200 tables??? That seems pretty low to me. That's indeed a very good price from what I have seen, and it certainly sounds like the best option versus shared hosting. I just wish there were more companies offering CF/Linux VPS options....why are they only on Windows? The only one I found offering Linux is viviotech.net and they're just a bit too small for my liking. They also are the only one I've seen offering BD on a VPS, another option I'd love to see more of. Regarding the 1 database...that seems typical on shared plans, I had the same with HMS, they charged me for the additional MySQL database I had for a short time, which is really frustrating. The unlimited datasources does mean you can have any number of Access databases though. Not what you should be using of course, particularly on shared hosting...but you can bet a lot of people do! --- Mary Jo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| ColdFusion is delivering applications solutions at at top companies around the world in government.
