Probably something do to with the FTP server you're connecting to. Some windows servers implement it funk-illy, apparently. FTP just sucks, basically. I'm a sad panda whenever I'm forced to use it. The "Remote System Explorer" is pretty decent (you can use it for the local filesystem too), and the jsch SFTP plugin offers a deal that works with team sync (it remembers what files are "dirty" locally so uploading only what has changed is easy). Hrm. Wonder if we could just swap out what we're using for the jsch one (I really like the "dirty" markers)... The "Remote System Explorer" plugin has "remote server search", and a bunch of other bells and whistles.
