All I can go by is what was said in the post.
What was said is that your company contacted the owner of the site, rather
then the developer, and that a member of the hosting staff modified the code
and the database in order to avoid conflict.
If the reality is that you contacted the first person on the contact list,
and they gave you permission to modify the code and the database, then thats
a compleatly different circumstance then what was stated.
