  </cfif>

hey don't feel bad, here in Pittsburgh (Mayberry-like city) we get this who
uses Cold Fusion all the time... Mainly because we have 3 camps most can
relate to: Academics who hate everyone and everything and are purists (give
me my *NIX and VI), people who's life has been sponsored by Microsoft (I
like video games... I like NIMBDA) and these freaks who call themselves
designers because they color their coloring books better (well they think
they do)...

Cold Fusion and the rest of us provide the needed relief by providing
applications... you know business, logic, sales, CRM, supply management,
mailing lists... etc.... while everyone else keeps adding ZEROS before the
decimal value of their over-bloated amount due by client by indicating the
importance of DESIGN, the user experience... filler schmucks...and
redeveloping the wheel from scratch and out of gold and only so it runs for
2 miles or less, etc.

Frontpage was nice when the web was 2 years old.. just like the pacifier
your colleague no longer sticks in his whiney mouth or elsewhere...

Coldfusion costs money to get into. You either have to buy the server
software or pay an ISP for space. There are no "free" CF options that I
know of. Yes you can download a trial version of it. But what do you do
after that? You pay for it.

PHP however is free to download and develop on. ASP is free to develop
with as long as you have access to a Windows box (which 90% of the world
does). If there were a free "developers" version of CF (and if there
is then i've never seen it), the numbers might be more noticable to your
bonehead boss. Frontpage. *gag* The micro$oft marketing machine is a
beautiful thing though. Gotta give them credit for that.
