One note about FrontPage, a lot of ISP's do not allow the use of FP extensions pretty
much of the vulnerability and ease of which hackers can get in and wreak havoc.
As far as who is using CF and how many develoers are out there, check out
http://www.allaire.com/casestudies/index.cfm. This is virtualy a who's who of
companies out there using CF. This link,
http://www.allaire.com/international/index.cfm is a rather large list of countries
that use CF.
And this link, http://www.allaire.com/handlers/index.cfm?ID=7653 is a great list of
communities out there that support CF.
While we are at it, lets talk awards.
http://www.macromedia.com/software/coldfusion/reviews/. These companies are nothing to
sneeze at.
This link here will allow you to see all of the certified developers to date.
As far as exactly how many out there are using cf, I do not know. However, it is a
point to note that FrontPage numbers are skewed because SO MANY people out there are
using it because it is so easy and cheap. Have your upper look into how many
companies are paying developers to develop in FP as opposed to how many are paying
developers to work in CF. FP, IMHO, seems to be pretty popular with mom and pop making
the Smith Family Homepage, but the serious web devleopment is not. If you are going to
do ASP, then go with Interdev. Much better.
