When I took my first digital circuits class (way back in dark ages), the circuit board looked so familiar, and I couldn't figure out why. Then I realized that it closely resembled the valve body in an automatic transmission, which I had helped me dad clean and repair on numerous cars in his auto repair shop. Makes sense: fluid logic and digital logic...just replace the steely balls with digital gates. My favorite digital gate is the don't gate..no matter what you put in, you don't get nothing out.
