Hey Mike listen to Len, he knows what he's talking about. He is the go to
authority when it comes to stopping viruses and spam at the server level.
All he was trying to say is this, if you get an extra box, nothing too
magnificant and set it up to relay to your list server, and set up that
box's ip address as the mx. You could configure the server to stop the spam
and you would only need your code to grab things that may slip through.
Granted what you have works pretty well here, he was just trying to help you
make it so there was never these issues. Len has some great free products he
has come up for free with and has been a huge help with the Imail community.
Take a look at his webpage at http://imgate.meiway.com/ . All free solutions
and he doesn't even ask for a dime.

Don't be offended by my stance as email doesn't tend to have my tone of
voice. I appreciate what you do for the list I just trying to explain Len's
point a bit better.

This has nothing to do with MX. It has to do with my custom code that reads

and cleans the mail for viruses, attachments, etc. When it detected a spam

message, it removed it to a separate directory, emailed the spammer and
then aborted. The abort was not needed and I fixed it. Now that its fixed,

I can field as many posts and as much spam as I want with no delay or
slowdown. The main stoppage was that massive post, but I fixed that as
well. God, I love using CF for this stuff. Takes no time to write up
exceptions and such.
